Ideal Supreme Court for the United States of America

If John Roberts is nominated and approved as the new Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, Attorney General Gonzalez is an excellent political and legal choice as the second judicial replacement to the court. Unfortunately, a very conservative female justice will probably be nominated to take the associate justice position. The new conservative leaning Supreme Court will depend on three points of political reality. First, Will the Senate challenge the President's Nominees as the Republican Presidential Contenders start jockeying for their 2008 position? Second, Will Arlen Specter remain as the Republican Stalwart of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Third, Will the President's sinking poll numbers rebound enough to revitalize his electoral "mandate"?
